Top 10 Albums for 2007

1. Low - Drums and Guns:
When I popped this album in the cd player, I must have listened to it five times in a row with no breaks. It absolutely floored me. It's an album I must listen to from start to finish. I can't remember the last time that happened.

2. The Field - From Here We Go Sublime:
After reading that Prefuse 73 enjoyed this album, I bought it on a whim. I can listen to this WHENEVER. So simple, minimal, but essential.

3. M.I.A. - Kala:
She does it again. Making the world feel like a global community. Merging so many sounds into a cohesive and focused sound that bangs.

4. Menomena - Friend and Foe:
This will be the slept on album that will make people go "how did I miss this?"

5. Feist - The Reminder:
Everyone's favorite singer to fall in love with came out with her third album. Most people know it from various commercials and tv appearances. But don't be a sucker, she broke my heart again with the album opener "So Sorry."

6. Mr. Hudson and The Library - A Tale of Two Cities:
A charming English lad and band..Let's hope their album hits stateside. Kanye West even picked them when he curated myspace's music page.

7. Justice - Cross:
Monster on the dancefloor. Forget the remixes and D.A.N.C.E. to every song or at least try to keep up.

8. Bat for Lashes - Fur and Gold:
Imagine the English cousins to Coco Rosie brewing darker spells and going for midnight bicycle rides.

9. Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings - 100 Days & 100 Nights:
With Amy Winehouse rejecting rehab, people should accept Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings into their lives.

10. Wale and Catchdubs - 100 Miles and Running:
In the year when Radiohead and Saul Williams gave away albums for free, mixtapes have always been a great free (thanks to bootlegs and the internet) promotion for hip-hop. Catchdubs ups the ante with his collabo with D.C. rapper Wale who kills it on the mic.

Dangermouse's Workspace

The New York Times has a photo slideshow of Dangermouse's workspace.

The following links are probably a year old, but there's nothing on TV anyway so go ahead and revisit them.
